Good Morning Perth Scorpions

Hope you managed to enjoy this amazing long weekend. I feel like I blinked and it disappeared! Easter is only round the corner!

Apologies for the multiple emails and updates recently. As we head into the new season, these will be less frequent.

Summary

• Winter Season Team Announcements: Congratulations to all our members who were selected in the Tuesday night and Thursday night teams. See below for a summary of each of the teams. 
• Uniforms:  Click here to place your uniform order. Please note: 
  • Orders are due by Sunday, 13 March and the order will be placed on Monday, 14 March. 
  • Invoices will be issued to members once the order has been placed
  • Uniforms can be used at training and/or competion games.
  • Prices are T-shirts ($33), singlets ($25), shorts with ($29) and without ($25) pockets and bags ($59).
  • Note those playing in Tueday and Thurday night competitions must have a Scorpions as per Loftus rules with a grace period until round three of the new season.  
• Feedback: The committee and our trainers want to know how you're feeling and how we can continue to grow the Perth Scorpions and improve training. Please complete our club feedback survey so we can prioritise initiatives to ensure we continue to create a safe environment where members of the LGBTQIA+ community, and our allies, can feel safe, accepted and included.  
• Checkin Process: Thank you for your patience yesterday, on reflection, it went relatively well for the first time. Don't forget to check in each week and make payment (if required). 
• Winter Season Training Fees (training only members): Training fees will increase to $10 per session from Sunday, 13 March 2022. Members can pay as you play or you can purchase a discounted full season Training membership for $209, which includes ~25 weeks of training plus your Volleyball WA membership valued at $34. Please email enquiries@perthscorpionsvolleyball.com.au if you would like to purchase a full season Training membership. Payment arrangements available.

Winter Season 2022 Teams

For the 2022 Winter Season, we have a taken a different approach to team allocations. As with all new things, we may not get it right first time, but we will continue to monitor as the season progresses and make adjustments if needed. 

In organising and allocating the teams, the following was taken into consideration: 

• member skill level after participating in grading. We have the safety of our players at the forefront of every decsion that is made;

• availability of our members to play Tuesday and/or Thursday nights and on a regular basis; 

• minimum numbers required to fill our teams - which has meant some members will play both Tuesday and Thursday night so we could field the six teams and accommodate all members registered for competition games. 

We will field six teams across the Tueday and Thursday night competions at Loftus Recreation Centre including: 

• one experienced mens team;

• two experienced mixed teams;

• And the remaining three teams will be a mix of Intermediate and Level 2 Beginner.
