We're thrilled to announce a monumental achievement for our beloved club – the award of our first-ever grant !! This incredible news signifies a giant leap forward for the Perth Scorpions Volleyball Club, and paves the way for even greater things to come.

The past year has been a whirlwind of growth for our Scorpions family. We successfully entered our first team into the WA state league (WAVL), showcasing our dedication and competitive spirit. Simultaneously, we've been working tirelessly with Volleyball WA, to advocate for greater inclusivity and gender equality within volleyball. Internally, we met our goal of improving female and gender diverse participation in our club to 25 and 10 percent, respectively. These strides reflect our commitment to fostering a welcoming environment, where everyone can feel comfortable and empowered to play the sport they love.

As the club continues to flourish, we recognised the need for further support in reaching our renewed goals for the coming year. With the unwavering support of the club’s committee, I was recently appointed as the club's Strategic Partnerships Officer to facilitate our continued growth. Building upon the groundwork laid by previous committees, we embarked on a crucial mission – securing our first ever grant to further the club's growth and impact.

Our search led us to a perfect fit: Bulk Nutrients. This wonderful Australian business, strives to enhance grass roots community organisations through a variety of initiatives. In recent years, they have supported over 200 local sports and community groups through their Bulk Gives Back initiative.

Words can't express how excited and grateful we are for this incredible opportunity. The Bulk Nutrients grant will allow us to further develop our club and expand its positive reach within our local community. We look to leverage the funds in creating a new and innovative format for our semi-annual Have-a-Go Days, allowing us to captivate more of our community with the fun health benefits volleyball can bring. This grant signifies a momentous occasion, not just for the Perth Scorpions Volleyball Club, but for the entire community. It represents the power of collective action, of advocating for change, and of creating spaces where everyone feels welcome and included.
