Due to the commencement of the new Winter Season in March and fundraising efforts, we've got a bumper issue and a lot to cover.

Contents:

1. Winter Season Grading - Will take place on Sunday, 27 February from 1pm to 3pm. Please ensure you arrive 10 minutes early to register and ready to commence at 1pm sharp.
2. Uniform Orders open till Sunday, 6 March - Uniform orders are available for t-shirts, singlets, short with and without pockets. Place your order at Perth Scorpions Uniform Order (Feb'22)
3. Picnic for Pinnacle - On Saturday, 26 February we will be holding a fundraiser at Langley Park from 11am to 5pm to raise funds for the Pinnacle Foundation. Click here for more info!
4. Bunnings Sausage Sizzle - Our next club fundraiser will be held at Bunnings Morley from 9am to 4pm. Make sure you tell your friends and come visit us on the day!
5. Rainbow Sandsport Festival - Perth Scorpions have teamed up with our fellow Perth LGBTQIA+ sporting clubs to bring you an afternoon of games and meeting new friends. Click here for more info.

As the Perth Scorpions continues to grow and evolve, we're changing how we conduct training and allocate our competitive teams, to ensure, you, our members, get the most out of each interaction you have on the court. 

The Club is introducing a Grading System to help our trainers prepare for and facilitate more targeted training and give everyone, at all levels, improved opportunities to grow and develop their volleyball skills.

The Grading Sheet provides more detail on what is being assessed, and how to grow your skills and experience to progress to the next grade. 

 and gives members visibility on what they need to do to progress to the next grade. Note 'Desired league' is the highest desired league you wish to compete in

Grading will occur at this weekend's training session, this Sunday 27 February, alongside the usual social games. Please attend on Sunday for grading and games!

Grading Day - Sunday, 27 February:

• UWA Sports Recreation Centre
• 1:00pm to 3:00pm (please arrive 10 minutes early register, prepared to commence at 1pm sharp).
• Upon arrival, you will be provided a grading sheet on arrive to enter your details or print the attachment and bring with you on the day.

This season we are excited to announce we are offering members the opportunity to purchase t-shirts, singlets, short with pockets and shorts without pockets.

To check out the new shirt design and order your Winter Season uniform please visit the Scorpions Uniform Order Form (Feb '22) site and place your order before Sunday, 6 March. 

Uniform orders will be submitted on Monday, 7 March. 

Important Information:

• If you are playing in the Tuesday and/or Thurday night competition, you are required to wear a uniform (grace period applies at the start of the season).
• Note orders take 4-6 weeks once the order has been placed. 

Please join the Perth Scorpions - Perth's first LGBTQIA+ volleyball club - in raising funds for Pinnacle Foundation.

The event will be held at Langley Park between 11am and 5pm.

Two volleyball nets will be set up and some other sports games to play on the day.

We ask that a gold coin donation is made upon arrival and bring a small plate of food to share.

Our next club fundraising event will be the Bunnings Sausage Sizzle held at Bunnings Bayswater, Collier Road on Saturday, 5 March between 8am and 5pm.

To ensure the day is as successful as possible, we need your help! Tell your friends, tell your family, tell your work colleagues....Let's raise as much money as possible for the club!

Make sure you come down and say hi to the team on the day!

Rainbow Sandsport Fest is a collaborative event brought to you by Perth Frontrunners, Perth Pride FC, Perth Rams, Perth Scorpions Volleyball Club, Perth Spectres Basketball Club & the Western Swifts Badminton Club. 

The event is for the entire LGBTQIA+ Sporting Community to come together to enjoy a fun, vibrant evening of over food, drinks, and sand sports. Attendees are encouraged to play their favourite sport plus maybe try a few others -- it'll be an evening filled with fun and energy! 

Activities on offer: 

• Beach volleyball
• Beach netball
• Beach soccer
• Beach rugby
• Lawn badminton 
• Lawn games 

Food & Beverages:

• Drinks may be purchased at the beach bar to keep you hydrated
• Yummy food may be purchased from food truck to fill your stomach

What to bring:

• Water bottle or two
• Towel (to wipe your sweat away)
• Spare shirt or light jacket as it may get windy in the evening
• A brilliantly fun & excited attitude
• Folding chair (optional but not necessary)
